The 3B Ranch is owned by Jan and Gary Bond along with their daughter Rhonda (thus the 3 "B's").  The ranch is outside of Cross Plains TX.  From the beginning we wanted to raise Registered Texas Longhorns.  We initially started in February 2004 with 2 Registered Texas Longhorn Steers.  They are 3B Mike and 3B Ike.  Rhonda named them after a favorite candy of her late "Papa Bond".  In October of that year we added a Cow and her Heifer Calf.  We nick-named them Kit and Kat, again after a favorite candy.  We have only been raising longhorns for five (5) years, but our goal is to raise Quality Registered Texas Longhorns.  Our Brand is the Lazy 3 Bar.

We are currently using artificial insemination in our breeding program.  We have been using semen obtained from Dickinson Cattle Company for our AI.  Dr. Creech formally of Cross Plains Veterinary Clinic did the initial AI and had 100% success.  For 2008 we utilized Horne Ranch Genetics out of Coleman, TX for our AI work.  We have been using Classic 100 and Monarch 103 for our sires.  In January 2007, Kit had a heifer calf (Prieta Bonita) and Kat had a heifer calf (Classy Bonita).
